Lolli's Friday Feast — Week Six
Thick Bowl, Bright Sip
Week Six is thick, hearty and built for a slow Friday night. This feast centres on Lolli's Split Pea Soup Mix — a dairy-free blend of split peas and lentils that turns velvety and rich once simmered low and slow with ham or bacon. A simple Onion & Chives yoghurt swirl adds a cool, savoury finish, and a bright Lime Bomb London Dry Gin & Tonic lifts the whole bowl with a zesty contrast. Big flavour, minimal effort — just let the pot do the work.
Split Pea Soup (as per the packet)
A thick, velvety soup made with green and yellow split peas, red, green and French lentils, and a warm spice blend of cumin, coriander, fenugreek and cardamom. Bring 9 cups of water to the boil, add the packet, and simmer covered for about 2 hours until thickened. Stir through 400g cooked diced ham or bacon 20 minutes before serving, season to taste, and blend if you'd like it smoother. Dairy-free, and serves 10-12.

Onion & Chives Yoghurt Swirl
A cool, savoury finisher that lightens the richness of the soup without masking its flavour.
Method
Mix 1 cup Greek yoghurt with 1-2 tbsp Lolli's Onion & Chives Dip Mix. Stir until smooth, loosening with a splash of water if needed. Spoon generously over your bowl of soup. One packet goes a long way, so there's nothing left over to waste in the fridge.

Drink Pairing — Botanik Lime Bomb London Dry Gin & Tonic
Bright and citrus-forward, a refreshing contrast to the soup's thick, smoky depth.
Why Lime Bomb works
- Zesty lime cuts cleanly through the richness of the ham or bacon
- Keeps each spoonful tasting fresh rather than heavy
- A lighter-bodied London Dry style that won't overpower the soup's warm spices
- The lime wedge garnish ties the drink back to its nam
Method
Add 30-45 ml Lime Bomb London Dry Gin to a glass of ice. Top with tonic. Garnish with a lime wedge.
